Hi! I'm Clayton Morell, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and family therapist based in Los Angeles. I work with teens, young adults, and their families, often at the moments when things at home feel stuck, tense, or just really hard.
Most of my work is with adolescents and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, and everything that tends to come tangled up with those. I have spent the past 15 years working with individuals and families at Visions Adolescent Treatment Centers and the Betty Ford Foundation.
My style is warm, collaborative, and direct. I meet clients and families where they are, without judgment or assumptions about where they should be. I see therapy as something we do together. We can figure out the next steps collaboratively, while respecting that the decisions about your life and your family ultimately belong to you. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to help you better understand what is happening, why it may be happening, and what choices are available to you.
In family work, I help each person communicate their needs more openly, listen to one another differently, and develop healthy boundaries when they are needed. Together, we can explore how long-standing family dynamics, relationships, and experiences continue to influence the choices and patterns showing up in your life today.
I also believe therapy can be a philosophical journey—an opportunity to examine who you are, what you value, and how you want to live. Rather than prescribing what that journey should look like, I try to help each client make it their own.
If any of this sounds like what you or your family are looking for, I'd love to hear from you. Reach out and we'll set up a time to talk and see if we're a good fit.
